Many anarchists, seeing the negative nuances of the definition of "anarchism", another term has been used to emphasize aspects that are inhern constructive and positive in their thinking. The most common term used is "free socialism", "free communism", "liberal socialism", and "liberal communism". For the anarchists, socialism, liberal, liberal communism, and anarchism can be exchanged. In accordance with the definition of the American Heritage Dictionary, we find:
Liberal: Someone who believes in the freedom of action and thought; someone who believes in free will.
Socialism: A social system in which the producers have the political power and the means of production and distribution of goods.
By taking the definition and combines the two:
Liberal socialism: a social system which believes in freedom of action, thought, and free will, and in which producers have political power, the means to produce and distribute goods.
(However, we must add that public opinion we still lack the political nuances of the dictionary. We only use this definition to show that the "liberal" does not refer to capitalism, "free market" as well as state ownership of "socialism". Definition of course others have Different definitions for socialism in particular. Those who wish to debate dictionary definitions, free satisfying hobby that is politically useless and no end, but we do not want to do).
However, because of the existence of liberal parties in the United States many people understand the idea of being "liberal socialism" in a contradictory term. In fact, many "liberals" who think that other anarchists tried to combine the ideas of "socialism" is "anti-liberal" (as liberals believed) with the liberal ideology that ideas "socialist" be more "easily accepted" - in other words trying to steal the label "liberal" from its rightful owners.
There is no truth that can be hidden. The anarchists have used the term "Liberal" to describe himself and his thinking since 1850. Anarchist revolutionary, Joseph Dejaque publish Le Libertaire, Journal du Social Movement in New York between 1858 and 1861 (Max Nettlau, A Short History of Anarchism, p. 75) According to anarchist historian Max Nettlau, use of term "liberal communism" started from November 1880 when a French anarchist congress adopted it. (Ibid., p. 145). Use of the term "liberal" by anarchists became more popular since 1890 after being used in France in an attempt to resolve anti-anarchist law and to avoid the negative associations of the word "anarchy" in the common understanding (Sebastian Faure and Louise Michel published the newspaper Le Libertaire - The Libertarian-in France in 1895, for example). Since that time, especially outside the U.S.. It was always associated with anarchist ideas and movements. By taking examples of the more recent, in the United States, Anarchists The Libertarian League formed in July 1954, which has the principles of anarchy syndicates are sturdy and last until 1965. On the other hand, the Liberal Party American standing in the early 1970's, meaning more than 100 years after anarchists first used that term to describe their political thinking (and 90 years after the first time the word "liberal communism" was adopted). Liberal party that has stolen the word, and not the anarchists. Then, in section B, we will discuss why the ideas of capitalism "liberal" (as the coveted liberal party) is a contradictory term.
As will be described in part I, only the liberal system of social ownership can maximize individual freedom. Needless to say, state ownership, commonly called "socialism", for the anarchists, not socialism entirely. In fact, as we will elaborate in section H of "socialism" is simply a form of state capitalism, without any socialist content.
